During the summer of 2009, my teenage daughter and I went to 45 Jonas Brothers concerts. Eleven weeks of driving 24,000 miles all over the United States and Canada. I was in the process of selling my house with several people interested and it felt like the perfect timing. A mortgage free summer before moving from Maryland to California.
Well, things don’t always go as planned. A few weeks before going on the road, the buyer for our house lost her job and the contract fell through. There were people still interested in my house but the trip would begin with me owning my house. Mortgage. Yard care. Housesitter. With some pondering and soul searching, I decided to trust and go. When we started the trip, I had enough money for three concerts with no idea how we were going to make it to all 45 concerts. We took a dive into the rabbit hole.
My daughter and I drove in silence for hours every day and sometimes through the night. In the silence, I tuned into deeper listening. Asking questions and tuning into my intuition, I had access to new ideas and remembering…
