Accountability and Fairness

Protests and fighting for justice are going to be in the forefront even more this year so I think it’s a good time to take a pause and reflect on the importance of accountability and fairness.
Fairness, and lack of fairness, is one of those things we have all felt and experienced. It might have been from the perspective of a child when someone got the bigger piece of cake, or you had to go to bed earlier than everyone else.
Fairness is out of balance when some people have privilege over others. Discrimination because of gender or race. Harm without accountability.
The #Metoo movement and Black Lives Matter have turned up the dial on “It’s time for accountability and equal treatment.” The impact has been taken to another level and accessing accountability is in process. Standing up for justice is unraveling the mindset that got us here in the first place.
