A world of dark and light

But, of course, the dark doesn’t go away. The world is made of dark and light, as we are. If we seem to succeed in banishing it, it pops up in another place, sooner or later, often with greater force, and takes us by surprise. Sometimes we instinctively or unconsciously avoid seeing something until we are ready to see it, until the time is right for us to see it, when we can make something of it and not be simply confused or overwhelmed by it. My mental health took a hit during the pandemic. Not because of the isolation of staying at home. I already lived a lifestyle that included Zoom calls and online services and programs. Heal My Voice had given me a voice and a way to stay in touch with people all over the world. I knew how to use my voice and how to navigate grief. There was even an increase of networking meetings on Zoom and I had even more access to groups around the world.

As I shared yesterday, the first challenge was “where was I going to live?” Even when I landed in Seattle and had a place to stay, I had lost choices to just pop into a pet sit to create space for everyone.
