Day Seven: November 7, 2023

A Practice: Connect with your brave heart.

“I quickly found out that mindfulness is for everyone. And what you practice on the mat, you also practice in the world. I think there’s still a lot of healing that needs to happen not only within indigenous people but also nonindigenous people before we can really come together. Whether you’re indigenous or not, we just went through a global pandemic, so how can we support one another and see one another as we are?” Shayla Oulette-Stonechild

Each week, I will end with a practice for the intention of creating space to pause, reflect on thoughts and feelings that arose this week and tend to your body, mind, and spirit. A practice can help you clear, release, and integrate anything that got stirred.

Use the practice listed or simply sit and breathe slow and deep for 5 minutes. Gentle breaths. Gentle movement.

This week’s practice adapted from Mindful magazine — February 2023

Connect with your Brave heart: A seated yoga practice.

Start by finding a comfortable seat. This can be on a couch or chair without arms or on a yoga mat on the floor.
