Day Four: Creativity
“Women have always cradled within their bodies secret mysteries of life, death, and rebirth and the healing, grounding, and balancing powers of our Mother in the Earth. We have held these mysteries sacred within us as we would carry babies in our wombs.” ~Elizabeth Eiler, Singing Woman: Voices of the Sacred Feminine
(Day 4 of 30 days of writing. All of the 30 days are posted on Medium or go to this link and purchase the entire e-book for 99 cents. The Sacred Feminine: Tuning into Your Personal Power. 30 days of Writing and Reflecting)
Smelling roses in my grandparent’s garden is a visceral moment from when I was around 3 or 4 years old. There was something about the smell and the beauty that created a sensation of pleasure and joy in my body. I remember feeling like I wanted to create something as beautiful as this. No words to express that at the time. It was a feeling in my body.
I also loved crayons and coloring books and singing. I loved the tactile feeling and the smell. As I got older, I loved messy crafts. Making taffy in the kitchen with a sticky mess everywhere and spray-painting furniture in the basement with the spray paint going all over my legs and arms and the carpet. If you ever read the book, “Cat in the Hat” and saw how the mess kept spreading, that was (and is) me!
