Connecting to the Land

Have you ever signed up for a course or started a new project and the next thing you know your life gets a little stirred up? You might even say an Initiation gets activated. Well, that is what happened to me at the beginning of April when a swollen lymph node turned out to be infected with streptococcus and I had to have surgery to remove it. Beth Shekinah Terrence and I had just opened our new Facebook group — a free group open to women and men- called Energetic Explorations for Evolution.

The initiation in the hospital connected me to the land and my vibrantly well ancestors with vulnerability, deep conversations about life and a revitalization.

When I began to do a deeper dive into ancestral lineage healing about five years ago, it helped me connect the dots around my relationship with the earth, mountains, trees, ocean, rocks, insects, and animals.

I grew up with parents and grandparents who had a relationship with nature. Bird watching, growing plants indoors and outdoors. Tending to gardens, visits to national and state parks. Animal lovers with dogs, cats and even a horse who helped my sister navigate high school. My grandfather was a fisherman and a writer for the Cape Cod local newspaper. He wrote a column that included stories about visitations with mermaids on foggy mornings on Cape Cod Bay and fish who talked to him. My grandmother canned…
